O.M.F. (Optical Magnified Facet)


Concave Cut - Laser Cut - Millenium Cut

A:  2-1/2" 5,000 rpm 90v dc pm motor.
B: Control box with variable speed control, reversing switch, and separate power switch.
C: Gear box has push button disengagement of reciprocation and swivel spacer to hold position.
D:  Spring loaded between gear housing and main body to hold out end play while reciprocation is disengaged.
E:  Spring loaded push pin for locking the main shaft while tightening or loosening the collet nut.
F:  Ratchet lever for vertical adjustment for changing the plane of the mandrel. (also has a adjustment for horizontal rotation.
G:  Pivot block and lock down for micro adjustment.  
H:  Micro adjustment stabilizer rods have been lengthened to 5" for larger stones.
I:  Micro adjustment to hold the dop in place while cutting and polishing.
J: Now aluminum tubing for more ridgity.
K: Collet nose and main shaft is made from stainless steel and accepts a 3/4" open end wrench.

  • The O.M.F. (Optical Magnified Facet) unit is the latest state of art in gem cutting. It heralds a new era in faceting by creating new and unique optical and geometric effects. It will provide unlimited possibilities for new designs which were previously impossible.
  • The O.M.F. unit is sure to test and expand the skills of experienced cutters as well as to kindle new levels of creativity in the art of gem cutting. While this unit is not generally for the beginning novice, it can be mastered by almost anyone.
  • O.M.F. unit comes as pictured above with one set of 3/4 inch mandrels.
